Overview

Computing Project (DCS5098) is a part of the course that is both time consuming and is an important activity. This is because it covers theory, empirical and practical. Students will form a group of THREE people to complete the project.


For Whom?

DIT DBIS DIC DEC students who will be registering for Computing Project (FYP).


Pre-requisite

Total Credit Hour including this trimester 60 Hours (as long as you do not get barred or withdraw from the course the hours are still counted) if you fail hours are still counted.


Grading


This Final Year Project carries a total of 100 marks. Each and every member of the group will be graded individually. Below are the distribution of the marks:

- Interim: 30%
- Final: 70%

Interim Assessment
System/Prototype: 10%
Presentation: 10%
Report: 10%
Total 30%

Final Assessment
General effort from the Supervisor: 10%
Presentation: 10%
Final Report: 10%
System: 40%
Total: 70%

Students are required to hand in both the hard copy and the soft copy of the report as well as the softcopy of the codes and the executable program to gain full marks. Students are advised to hand in their work earlier or on the final day of the date set by the Board. Students who fail to do so will be considered as Failed.

Warning:

All students are advised to take part or contribute to the project as a whole. Every member must be involved in ALL of the areas planned for the FYP. There should not be one member that does only programming or documentation only. A group member must do a potion of the programming, documentation, planning and any other area that is intended for the project.
